Pre-alpha documentation
Adopt the public alpha without guessing compatibility.
StateKnot publishes one lockstep preview set with exact pins, explicit Semantic Versioning rules, forward-only durable-data upgrades, and reproducible release gates.
Pin one exact release set
The facade, Core, PostgreSQL store, Runtime, integrations, artifact store, and qualification Testkit share one version. Mixing StateKnot product versions is unsupported because durable schemas, registries, and recovery semantics are qualified together.

-
Prerelease
Breaking API changes may occur between Alpha identifiers. Every preview requires an explicit exact pin and a reviewed changelog.
-
Stable version lines
Incompatible changes bump the compatibility component required by Cargo Semantic Versioning. Deprecation precedes removal unless safety or correctness requires an immediate break.
-
MSRV
The current minimum supported Rust version is
1.88.0with Edition 2024. A future MSRV increase is treated as incompatible for supported consumers. -
Durable data
PostgreSQL migrations are forward-only. Versioned schemas, Graph and Agent identities, and MCP/A2A profiles retain independent explicit versions and fail closed on incompatible drift.
Release from immutable evidence
A release must come from a main-reachable immutable tag, pass
the cross-platform, PostgreSQL 16/17, protocol, documentation, dependency,
and website gates, and rebuild from the packaged crate sources.
Publication runs in dependency order, then downloads and SHA-256 compares
every archive. Read the complete normative policy, changelog, and operator runbook.
